Design Manager

The Design Manager will oversee planning, coordination, and implementation of design integration activities, ensuring team alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. They will also manage design schedules, issue management, and support business development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project startup activities
- Develop and maintain project organizational charts, roles & responsibilities matrixes, and decision-making workflows
- Participate in teaming and partnering meetings
- Lead kickoff meetings and weekly internal and external coordination meetings
- Establish collaboration procedures with the owner and design team
- Lead project team alignment effort during transition from design phase to construction
- Manage and develop other team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering related field
- 8-10+ years of experience in design and/or construction
- Strong knowledge and experience in engineering/consulting or estimating/preconstruction
- Familiarity with collaborative delivery (design-build, CMAR, etc.)
- Proficient in interpreting and understanding technical memoranda, specifications, drawings, process flow diagrams, and other project-related documentation
