Product Designer - E-Commerce
Phorest Software Remote (🇬🇧 Northern Ireland, United Kingdom)
You will evolve consumer shopping experiences to help guests discover, choose, and purchase products. Collaborate closely with engineering to build, test, and ship ideas while ensuring a trustworthy and delightful experience.
Responsibilities
- Champion our branded salon app within your team, utilising modern workflows and user-centric thinking to design impactful solutions that directly address our clients' evolving needs
- Work in a product engineering environment, working closely with an engineering team to ensure what was shipped is meeting customer needs
- Plan, run, and synthesise user research to validate assumptions, de-risk decisions, and improve the experience
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and prototypes that clearly communicate intent and enable fast iteration
- Design user-centred journeys across web and mobile, balancing accessibility, performance, and brand craft
- Promote design best practices and raise the bar through constructive critique, feedback, and continuous improvement
- Drive the evolution of the design system, partnering with Product and Engineering to elevate the patterns into a more modern, scalable framework for the branded app
Requirements
- 4+ years product design experience (UX/UI)
- Strong UI skills and a sharp visual design taste
- Strong understanding of information architecture, user experience, interaction, and visual design
- Proficiency in Figma and design prototyping tools and design storytelling
- Ability to apply user research methodologies and data to inform design decisions
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design
- Driven user-centric design, through an understanding of user needs, behaviours, and motivations
- Collaboration & communication skills, with the ability to build good relationships and communicate effectively both verbally and in written format
- Problem-solving: Able to work autonomously in ambiguous or complex environments
