Hybrid Full-time Senior

As a Design Manager, you will coordinate and oversee design activities across multiple highway and infrastructure schemes. You will manage the complete design process from concept through to construction support and scheme close-out.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete design process from concept to construction support and scheme close-out
  • Coordinate internal and external design teams to ensure timely delivery aligned with programme and budget
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, including DMRB, MCHW, and TfL requirements
  • Act as Principal Designer, promoting safe-by-design principles and managing design risks
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, providing technical leadership and guidance

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer status with membership in ICE, CIHT, or IHE
  • Substantial experience in highways and infrastructure design
  • Comprehensive understanding of DMRB, MCHW, and TfL standards
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CDM 2015 compliance and Principal Designer responsibilities
  • Proven track record in managing external design consultants and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Exceptional communication abilities and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and familiarity with NEC forms of contract
