Jr. Packaging Graphic Designer (Contract)

The Junior Packaging Graphic Designer will create and update packaging layouts, build mockups for line reviews, and manage multiple projects while ensuring compliance with standards. They will also collaborate with the Sales team and work closely with senior designers to align on design expectations.
Responsibilities
- Create and update packaging layouts across multiple product categories
- Build in-house mockups to support line reviews and customer requests
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with project requirements, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration
- Ensure packaging graphics comply with R&D, Legal, and QA standards, with accurate copy verification
- Collaborate directly with global print companies, understanding and meeting their requirements to prepare mechanical, print-ready files
- Work closely with the Head of Creative and Brand and Senior Designers to align deliverables with design expectations and objectives
- Proof, pre-flight, prepare, and press check files for production, ensuring high-quality outputs
- Maintain and organize all design files systematically for easy access and updates
Requirements
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud with emphasis in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid understanding of the packaging industry, including dielines, UPCs, materials, and finishes
- Familiarity with printing processes, including preflight preparation, production, and press checks
- Experience working within corporate brand guidelines
- A strong graphic design foundation with expertise in color, typography, and composition
- Portfolio showcasing professional packaging design work
- At least Associates degree in a related graphics field
- Minimum of 1+ years of professional experience in packaging design
