Deputy Design Manager - Gateway

Oversee the design team and coordinate activities for heavy commuter rail systems on the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project. Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to integrate technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in oversight of the design team and coordinating design activities for the project
- Ensuring that design deliverables meet project requirements, client expectations, and relevant standards
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to integrate design elements and address technical challenges
- Reviewing design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Supporting value engineering efforts, design optimization, and innovation in design solutions
- Coordinating with construction teams to ensure seamless transition from design to construction phase
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- 12+ years extensive experience in design management, preferably on large tunneling or underground construction projects
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bentley software suites
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities
