Design Technologist (PWU)

The Design Technologist is responsible for creating detailed designs of overhead and underground systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. They will also communicate with various stakeholders to clarify project scope, schedule, and costs.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs of overhead and underground systems
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity of project scope, desired schedule and cost for each project design
- Perform required calculations and prepare detailed schematics for proposed projects
- Liaise with Right of Way (ROW) Authorities, Utility Agencies, Permitting Authorities, Contractors, and Project Owners
- Assess and respond to technical customer inquiries
- Monitor construction on all projects by regularly scheduled job site reviews
Requirements
- Completion of a 3-year Engineering Technology program
- Eligible for OACETT registration
- Minimum five (5) years related experience
- Advanced skills in CAD, GIS, non-linier strength analysis, cable pulling, transformer loading, document management system, work order management system, customer information system, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications
