Principal, Design Engineering - TPL

The Principal, Design Engineering will lead the hardware design and implementation of compute systems, driving compute strategies and recommending best practices. They will engage with customers and collaborate with product teams to bridge technology roadmaps into hardware products.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in ideation and concept design, creating new and reusable hardware architectures for current and new product categories
- Engage with strategic customers to represent hardware products at a deep technical level
- Provide strategic direction for the planning, design, and architecture of high-quality, complex hardware systems
- Work with different constituencies, including Product Group Technology Leads, Product Managers, Marketing, Sales/SEs to define technology roadmap
- Understand compute industry trends and partner with senior leadership to develop strategic direction for innovative technology initiatives
- Work closely with product teams to bridge technology roadmap into hardware products
- Select key components for optimal design and cost efficiency for successful market adoption
- Review and analyze new technologies and trends, and summarize results for presentation to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience
- Proficient in all compute hardware architectures, including datacenter, telecommunication, enterprise, and service provider
- Strong understanding of compute components and protocols
- Experience in rack level system design
- Experience with AMD and Intel GPU, Broadcom DNX, Intel/AMO processor, hard disk, SSD, SAS/SATA, PCIE, CXL, Ax86
- Excellent interpersonal skills, well-organized, self-motivated person, strong customer service, project, and analytical skills
