Instrumentation & Controls Design Engineering Manager

The role involves overseeing an engineering unit, directing projects, and ensuring quality standards. Responsibilities include business development, staff development, and organizational support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, Project Managers (PM) and other internal constituents
• Direct/assign work to the unit to balance activities between work groups
• Maintain responsibility for the unit’s quality and establish and enforce quality standards for the unit
• Accept unit’s responsibility of budget and schedule for assigned projects
• Assign unit’s Responsible Engineers (RE) and provide recommendation to the Client Engineering Manager of Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for unit led projects
• Responsible for the approval of engineering documents produced by the unit
• Certify design documents as required by state and local client and code requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience including experience supporting the nuclear power industry and 2+ years of leadership experience for Manager role
• PE License is required
• Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites
• Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant environment and familiarity with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
• Strong coordination and team building skills
