Architectural Design Manager

The Architectural Design Manager will lead the commercial architectural design function, overseeing project execution and ensuring design quality. They will also develop team members and support the growth of architectural services.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop approximately four direct reports within the commercial architectural design team
- Oversee and participate in commercial architectural design projects from concept through documentation and coordination
- Set clear expectations for project quality, deadlines, communication, accountability, and client responsiveness
- Review drawings, plans, documentation, and deliverables for accuracy, consistency, code awareness, and client alignment
- Implement design standards, templates, review processes, and QA/QC workflows that improve consistency and reduce rework
- Balance team workload, assign priorities, and reduce bottlenecks that slow project delivery
- Collaborate with structural engineering, field services, leadership, clients, consultants, and internal project stakeholders
- Support client communication, proposal development, project scoping, and commercial architecture growth efforts as needed
- Identify staffing, training, process, and technology needs that will help the team scale effectively
Requirements
- Licensed Architect
- Commercial architectural design experience
- People leadership experience
- Strong understanding of architectural documentation, design standards, coordination, and project delivery
- Ability to review technical work while coaching and developing people
- Strong communication skills with clients, internal teams, and senior leadership
- Ability to work on-site in Garner, NC
