Southeast Senior Road Design Manager

Manage and lead road design projects from concept through construction while overseeing technical design teams. Serve as the primary client liaison for project delivery, ensuring compliance with standards and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead road design projects from concept through construction
- Oversee technical design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards
- Serve as the primary client liaison for project delivery, quality, and performance
- Review design calculations, plans, and specifications
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers
- Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina and/or South Carolina (or ability to become registered within six months)
- 10-15 years of road design experience, including leadership of large-scale DOT or other county/municipal transportation projects
- Experience managing or being 'in charge of all aspects of design' for a project
- Familiarity with state DOT standards
- Proficiency in relevant design software/tools
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, leadership/mentoring ability, and ability to manage multi-discipline teams
