Assistant Design Manager (Formwork)

The Assistant Design Manager leads the formwork design team in India, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs that meet project and factory requirements. The role includes managing team performance, workload, and production targets across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the formwork design team based in India
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritise design workloads to meet monthly production and delivery targets
- Ensure formwork designs are fit for purpose, compliant with project requirements, and aligned with factory manufacturing needs
- Assist the Technical Design Manager as the primary design interface with Factory, Business Development, and Project teams
- Manage design deliverables, changes, and priorities across multiple projects
- Monitor performance, identify risks, and escalate issues that may impact quality, safety, cost, or programme
- Identify skills gaps within the team and request appropriate training or development support
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, standards, and ways of working
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times
- Work flexibly and support business needs during peak periods
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Design function
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Construction)
- Minimum five years of formwork design experience
- Strong design skills in AutoCAD 2D & 3D
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Well-developed analytical skills
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment on standard and major projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets
- Good listening and probing skills to diagnose client requirements
- Able to work independently and as a team player in a results-driven, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to be involved hands-on in projects if required
- Engaging personality and confident attitude
- Excellent communication skills in English language
