Engineering - Co-op Student - Design Engineering

The Engineering Co-op student will support the Design Engineering team in developing and commercializing medical devices. Responsibilities include product design support, prototyping, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of product concepts, 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
- Support prototype builds, testing, and evaluation activities
- Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews
- Assist with engineering change documentation, BOM updates, and technical file preparation
- Support verification and validation activities including fixture development and test execution
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong interest in medical device product development and design
- Hands-on and self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software is preferred
- 3D printing experience is an asset
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and prototyping is an asset
