Lead discovery research to inform product strategy and roadmap, and run validation studies on prototypes and live features. Build and maintain the research practice while enabling the team to conduct their own research.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery research to inform product strategy and roadmap — interviews, contextual inquiries, surveys, and analysis of product data
- Run validation studies on prototypes and live features — usability testing, concept testing, friction analysis
- Build and maintain our research practice — own the insights system, define methods, set quality standards
- Enable the team to do research — coach PMs, Product Designers, and the Head of Product to run lightweight studies themselves
- Translate findings into action — present to stakeholders, defend recommendations, make sure insights change decisions, not just inform them
- Build relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders at our healthcare partners to enable continuous access to participants
Requirements
- 4–7 years of UX research or product research experience
- Mixed-methods fluency — comfortable with qualitative and quantitative research
- Pragmatic over purist — you know when 5 interviews are enough and when they’re not
- Strong communication and influence — you can present findings to executives, push back when needed, and turn insights into decisions
- Independent and self-directed — you’ll be our first researcher and you need to be comfortable building the practice from scratch
- Curiosity about healthcare — you don’t need clinical background, but you need genuine interest in how clinicians and patients work
