The Package Development Engineer provides technical expertise in the design, development, testing, and production scale-up of new packaging components and systems. They participate in process improvement and quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Participates in process improvement, quality improvement, cost improvement, change control or task teams
- Participates and advises in decisions involving equipment, package design, and source reduction
- Packaging leader for assigned NPI and LCM projects with moderate supervision
- Researches and catalogs packaging methods and techniques and recommends adaptations to meet variations
- Builds technical competencies in packaging materials and processes used in all manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent Technical Degree
- 2 – 4 years related experience
- Knowledge of packaging material characteristics and validation practices
- Experience in plastic component design, development and qualification
- Previous Experience in the areas of Design for Manufacturing or Assembly
- Statistical Analysis knowledge preferred (Six Sigma)
