Design Technologist (PWU)

The Design Technologist is responsible for creating detailed overhead and underground system designs and estimates while ensuring compliance with utility standards. They coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage project scope, budgets, and material requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs of overhead and underground systems
- Perform required calculations and prepare detailed schematics for proposed projects
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Communicate and provide technical support and guidance to municipalities, developers, contractors, electrical/civil consultants, architects, field supervisors, government agencies and customers
- Assess and respond to technical customer inquiries
Requirements
- Completion of a 3-year Engineering Technology program
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Eligible for OACETT registration
- Advanced skills in computer software programs for CAD, GIS, non-linear strength analysis, cable pulling, transformer loading, document management system, work order management system, customer information system, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications
