Onsite $80,000 - $120,000 Full-time Senior

The Design Manager coordinates the successful completion of project designs by managing the design team and implementing design management tools. They ensure plans and specifications meet budgets, client approvals, and permit requirements while coordinating between architects, engineers, and trade partners.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of the design to ensure safety measures are incorporated
  • Develop a criteria compliance log and review lessons learned
  • Develop and implement the constructability review process and third-party/peer review process
  • Ensure the design schedule supports the project schedule
  • Ensure contractual requirements are incorporated in the design
  • Understand the estimate and ensure the design team stays within budget
  • Manage the change and/or trend estimate process during the design phase
  • Review and assist in writing bid packages
  • Ensure proper documentation of all design meeting minutes, design packages, design changes, etc.
  • Write proposal narratives describing Hensel Phelps's preconstruction plan
  • Manage the LEED process

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing
  • Minimum of 15-20 years of sales and development experience in the local market
  • Ability to prioritize tasks when faced with multiple deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in Database Applications (Microsoft Dynamics CRM)
  • Proven track record in building sales of construction products
  • Established connections in the local commercial construction market
