Emerging Careers Software Developer, Design Systems

Develop and maintain accessible, performant front-end components for the Filament design system to power marketing and post-purchase experiences. Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams to implement design specifications and contribute to component documentation in Storybook.

Responsibilities

• Develop front-end components based on design specifications, ensuring implementations match design intent and meet quality, performance, and accessibility standards
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established patterns, conventions, and best practices for the component library
• Implement responsive, accessible components that meet WCAG compliance standards and work seamlessly across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies
• Collaborate with designers to refine component specifications, provide technical feasibility input, and ensure smooth design-to-development handoff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 2-3 years of front-end development experience
• Experience with modern front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, component frameworks such as React and meta-frameworks like Next.js, and Web Components
• Strong understanding of responsive design, CSS layout techniques, cross-browser compatibility, and accessible web development
