The role focuses on acting as the strategic architect and owner of the design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the product. Responsibilities include defining component strategy, bridging design and code, and pioneering AI-augmented workflows for system development.
Responsibilities
- Defines and evolves system architecture, including component taxonomy, token structure, and governance models
- Partners with engineering to align system decisions with technical implementation and long-term scalability
- Creates frameworks for adding, modifying, or deprecating patterns
- Designs production-ready components with comprehensive variant coverage and thoughtful API design
- Establishes seamless connections between design and code through Code Connect mappings, design token pipelines, and automated synchronization
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in product design
- 2+ years of experience focused on design systems, component libraries, or platform design
- Proven track record of building or scaling design systems across multiple product teams
- Deep proficiency in Figma and its systems capabilities
- Technical fluency in HTML/CSS, design tokens, Git, and component-based architecture
