Mechanical Design Engineering Intern

Support the design, prototyping, and validation of mechanical components for battery energy storage systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create 3D CAD models and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of mechanical components, modules, and assemblies for next generation BESS products
- Assist with prototyping, testing, and validation activities in the lab and production environments
- Contribute to 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting under the guidance of senior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design studio, hardware engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, and operations
- Support documentation efforts including drawings, design records, and test reports
- Take ownership of a defined project that delivers tangible value to the team by the end of the internship
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles
- Coursework or project experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred, others accepted)
- Familiarity with 2D drafting and engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a hands-on lab and prototype environment
