Senior Product Designer

The Senior Product Designer will shape experiences for the Sentinel lab informatics platform and hardware-facing lab display interfaces. This involves collaborating with engineers and scientists to create intuitive, data-rich software and maintaining scalable design systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineering are tightly coupled at Radical
- Expect to sit in on engineering reviews, iterate quickly based on direct feedback from scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers, and have real ownership over product quality
- Work on Sentinel (core lab informatics platform) - multi-step experiment workflows, composition analysis views, and interactive dashboards for scientists and lab operators
- Work on lab display interfaces - touch and tablet UIs that surface real-time data at the bench, designed for usability in a physical lab environment
- Design systems - establishing and maintaining component patterns, tokens, and documentation as we scale
- Research & iteration - collaborating directly with scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers to understand workflows, validate concepts, and ship improvements quickly
Requirements
- 4+ years of product design experience across UX and UI
- Portfolio demonstrating strong information architecture and data visualization
- Expert-level Figma skills including prototyping and component libraries
- Ability to work cross-functionally with software engineers, scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers
- Comfortable with ambiguity - able to propose informed design directions and iterate quickly based on user feedback
- Openness to learning frontend concepts and tooling
