Staff/Principal Product Designer
Amber Electric Remote (🇦🇺 Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)
Lead the design of high-priority, complex product challenges to help customers transition to renewable energy. Act as a strategic partner to the Head of Design, shaping product direction and raising the bar for design craft across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Take on high-priority product challenges with broad customer and business impact
- Actively shape design direction on new horizon projects
- Lead discovery and research to deeply understand user motivations, behaviours, and energy literacy needs
- Design thoughtful, scalable solutions across mobile and web
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to align on strategic decisions and ensure quality of execution
- Raise the bar for design craft and user experience across the organisation
- Mentor and support designers of all levels
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in product design
- At least 3 years of experience at a Staff or Principal level
- Track record of designing mobile and web experiences at scale
- Strong visual and interaction craft
- Ability to walk into an ambiguous, messy problem space and bring order to it
- Leadership through craft and example
