Senior Design Manager - Risk

Act as a senior advisor to identify and manage design risks across tenders, ECI, and live projects. Provide expert recommendations and challenge design thinking to improve project outcomes and mitigate risks early.
Responsibilities
- Review design documentation to identify risks early
- Provide practical, experience-led recommendations to improve outcomes
- Support teams in developing risk mitigation strategies across the project lifecycle
- Partner with internal teams and external consultants to strengthen design approaches
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design management processes
Requirements
- Significant experience in design management within commercial construction across multiple building typologies
- A background in architecture, engineering, or similar, with strong technical grounding
- A deep understanding of NCC, building codes and other legislative requirements
- A broad, holistic view of projects â beyond a single discipline
- The ability to influence and challenge constructively, even in complex or sensitive situations
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and diplomatic approach
