Mechanical Project Engineer, Design Engineering Quality

Oversee the mechanical design and implementation of automated fulfillment center projects from concept to completion. Lead cross-functional engineering teams, manage stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers to ensure high-quality logistics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct comprehensive layouts for multiple automated material handling system projects
- Lead the selection and specification of conveyor types, third-party equipment, and systems across projects
- Manage coordination with electrical, controls, and structural engineering teams to ensure cohesive, integrated designs
- Develop and manage mechanical engineering project plans, schedules, deliverables, and ways of working across multiple projects
- Directly manage and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on complex technical challenges and leadership skills
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments
- Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status, and prioritizing tasks
- Experience in team leadership
- Experience in 3D CAD
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
