Develop new product concepts and prototypes by interpreting customer specifications and technical drawings. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to lead products through their entire production lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new product concepts based on customer and project requirements
  • Take part in daily, specialized and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Design, model and test prototypes
  • Use CAD to design concepts
  • Meet with customers to go over new/existing design criteria and function
  • Travel may be required as per customer location
  • Accountable for producing/updating drawings, instructions and specifications to produce each product
  • Work in our operating system
  • Working overtime or longer hours maybe required to meet customer/production deadlines

Requirements

  • Experience in the canvas, awning, or marine manufacturing industry
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Related on-job experience - 3 years
  • Vocational school training
  • CAD, Solid Works Design/Drawing software
  • Digitizer/Plotter classes or related experience
