Engineer II - Design Engineering

Create and analyze repair solutions for damaged aircraft engine components to ensure they meet OEM and airworthiness standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical data that optimizes safety, cost, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Create repair solutions to facilitate the restoration of damaged parts to operational service with minimal supervision
- Establish that the technical data requirements are compliant to airworthiness standards and ensure repairs and limits are safe, durable, properly substantiated, meeting the quality requirements of the component
- Support coordination of design requirements for repairs with other ASE technical disciplines and module centers/Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs)
- Research operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies to provide high quality repairs
- Evaluate the feasibility of the repair by utilizing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) techniques on the design proposal
- Support co-ordination with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods, plus document and present results to management and customers
Requirements
- 2 to 7 years of experience in Repair Design with master's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical or Materials Science)
- A solid foundation in Mechanical Design principles
- Knowledge of or preferably experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, plating, plasma spray, or brazing
- Experience in an aerospace overhaul environment
- Basic working knowledge of Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial gas turbine engines
- Familiarity with Raytheon Technologies CORE Operating System
- Confident/demonstrated communication skills including executive level written and oral presentation proficiency
