Staff Product Designer - Metrics

Lead the design of the Metrics platform, focusing on 0-to-1 problems and translating complex technical subject matter into simple user experiences. Partner with engineering and product teams to define how customers troubleshoot and govern high-volume observability data sets.
Responsibilities
- Lead design across workflows and partner with product managers, engineers, and designers
- Define how customers reason about and govern their telemetry at scale
- Communicate design work and support for design decisions internally
- Take a strategic role in shaping the direction of Metrics and advocating for design as a multiplier of engineering velocity and organizational alignment
- Champion design quality across the organization
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in product design
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end design on ambiguous, technically deep problems
- Fluent in technical subject matter and comfortable reasoning about data structures and system architectures
- Excellent visual and written communicator
- Experience with advanced prototyping tools
- Understanding of systems thinking and design flows that scale across many variations and edge cases
