Design resilient and cost-effective mechanical distribution systems for data centers from concept to construction documents. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and utilities to ensure compliance with building codes and successful system commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to understand user requirements
  • Data center mechanical designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create a construction document set
  • Creation of designs which meet or exceed quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements
  • Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify mechanical equipment
  • Work with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements
  • Work with local agencies to ensure compliance with city/county requirements and building codes
  • Review and approval of equipment submittals
  • Define project scopes and provide technical support for information requests during construction phases
  • Work with commissioning teams to validate installation, operation, and performance of mechanical systems
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
  • Travel to sites for site review and work with on-site field engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning specific education courses
  • Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities, especially data centers
