Sr. Design Technologist (Product Designer)

The role focuses on bridging the gap between design intent and engineering execution by maintaining the semantic and component token layer of the design system. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers on implementation, documenting governance standards, and integrating AI-assisted design tools into workflows.
Responsibilities
- Complete and maintain the semantic and component token layer of the SimplePractice design system
- Design and document component token logic at the component level
- Collaborate with engineering partners on token naming, component structure, and implementation QA
- Review agent-authored component candidates for design intent and craft
- Participate in design system governance, contributing to documentation, versioning standards, and rollout support
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in a hybrid design role
- Comfort in the space between design and engineering
- Enough front-end fluency (HTML/CSS, React, or equivalent) to participate in implementation discussions
- Strong Figma proficiency, including component architecture, auto layout, variables, and prototyping
