Data Center Structural Engineer, DC Design Engineering

The role involves designing resilient and cost-effective prototypical data center facilities while providing technical guidance to team members. The engineer will review consultant drawings and solve large-scale implementation issues to ensure world-class uptime.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external teams to define, design, detail, and document the various structural features that our facilities require
- Provide technical guidance to team members
- Review milestone drawings by consultants
- Solve large-scale implementation issues
- Be responsible for structural design requirements
- Collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities experience
- 4+ years of commissioning experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Experience in commissioning
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering
- US Citizenship Required
- Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer License, Experience with building codes and regulations for your region, Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
