Develops and executes visual solutions across print, digital, and environmental media to support Houston Zoo's communication needs. Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage projects from conceptualization through final production and installation.
Responsibilities
- Executes creative tasks from start to finish
- Conceptualizes, designs, and produces art for a wide range of media
- Consults with staff to identify graphic needs, budget constraints, and reasonable deadlines
- Coordinates the printing or signage production process
- Operates within Houston Zoo’s current workflow and brand aesthetic
- Manages multiple design projects simultaneously
- Responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders in finalizing projects
Requirements
- 3+ years professional experience in graphic design and production
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic communications, graphic design, or related field
- Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, computer programs, and equipment
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with a wide range of individuals and constituencies
