SME UX Designer

Lead the user experience strategy and design standards for enterprise data and analytics applications within the Department of War. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate operational requirements into scalable, production-ready UI/UX solutions using human-centered design principles.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead user experience strategy and design standards across WDP applications and services
- Apply human-centered design principles to improve usability, accessibility, and user satisfaction
- Conduct and lead user research, usability testing, and workflow analysis to inform design decisions
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and interaction models to guide product design
- Design and oversee creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI/UX designs
Requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Human Factors, Psychology, Design, or related discipline and 12-15 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 10-13 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in UX design, human-factors engineering, or related field and proficiency with UX design tools
- Extensive experience designing user experiences for complex applications or enterprise platforms
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and workflow analysis
- Experience with UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar)
