Student Intern, Design & Engineering

The intern will support the Design Engineering Department by organizing transmission drawings and assisting with standards and assembly unit development. Additional duties include performing quality assurance checks and tracking project progress across various utility departments.
Responsibilities
- Combine productive work for the benefit of the E/O Division with educational experiences for the intern
- Work on projects supporting Design & Engineering
- Spend time shadowing and assisting employees in the Transmission, Substation, and Distribution departments
- Organize transmission drawings
- Assist with standards development
- Assist with assembly unit development
- Assist with work order analysis
- Perform quality assurance checks for design projects
- Track and document project progress
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC
- Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts
- Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner
Requirements
- Incumbent must be enrolled in an institution of post-secondary education and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an Engineering field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs
