Lead a geographically distributed team of ICT Design Engineers to design telecommunications pathways and cabling plants for AWS data centers. Own the Telecommunications Basis of Design and drive standardization across various build types to enable scalable capacity delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a geographically diverse and distributed team of ICT Design Engineers
- Own the Telecommunications Basis of Design (BOD) — the governing document for all ICT infrastructure across AWS's global design portfolio
- Drive design standardization, quality, and innovation across multiple build types
- Develop and maintain a multi-year infrastructure strategy covering network changes, volume roadmap, and capacity planning
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable pathway, space, and cabling designs and specifications for construction and permitting
Requirements
- 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience
- Experience with building codes and regulations for the region
- Experience reading and editing construction documents
- Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Experience managing training programs or teams across multiple sites or regions
