UX Researcher

The UX Researcher manages the physical design lab and conducts various moderated and unmoderated usability tests to understand user behaviors. They are responsible for translating research findings into actionable reports for designers and product managers to improve the user experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain the physical design lab space with necessary equipment and technology
- Schedule testing sessions and coordinate with internal teams and external participants
- Manage participant recruitment, screening, and compensation
- Ensure lab equipment (cameras, recording software, observation room) functions properly
- Maintain organized archives of test recordings and research materials
- Conduct user research, including moderated and unmoderated usability tests, user interviews, card sorting, tree testing, and other evaluative research methods
- Create clear, concise reports summarizing usability findings and recommendations
- Present research findings to UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with designers to refine test plans and research protocols
- Work with the UX team to prioritize which designs need testing
- Maintain a research repository documenting past studies and findings
Requirements
- 2+ years of conducting UX research in-house
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in UX research or similar
- Highly skilled in qualitative research methods
- Ability to think strategically regarding the application of data and research
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, turning constraints into opportunities
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently
- Ability to communicate research insights in compelling, memorable ways that drive clear action
- Ability to understand and relate to users' needs and perspectives
- A talent for identifying opportunities in user flows
- Ability to forge strong partnerships with product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible, adapting to changing priorities
