Intern - Design Engineering

Support customer orders and engineering projects by preparing drawings, basic calculations, and technical documentation. Conduct engineering studies to design and modify products, subsystems, and equipment while ensuring functional specifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures
• Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design
• Applies engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes
• Creates drawings in developing product designs
• Completes work according to standard engineering principles and practices
• Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, equipment, machines, associated and subsystems components, and structures
• Uses computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
• Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal
• Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering student with three plus years completed course work towards major with three years relevant experience and/or training
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software
• AutoCAD and Inventor experience with Solid Modeling and 3D design experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering proposals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
