Product Designer, Cat & Jack Kids – Girls Knit Apparel

Lead the design and development of Cat & Jack kids' knit apparel by translating trends and research into cohesive product stories. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure products align with brand vision, merchant line plans, and price points.
Responsibilities
- Driving category concepts and strategies throughout the development process, inclusive of market, trend, and consumer research
- Lead the development of cut & sew knits design language, translating ideas into product direction
- Preparing professional presentations with inspirational research and illustrations that reflect your design intent
- Working closely with cross-functional partners and business partners to communicate detailed direction
- Support and drive product designs that maintain overall brand creative vision, and support merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points
- Build brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the brand to ensure continuity
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues in collaboration with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
- Knowledge of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production
- Experience assimilating product feedback
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a retail or product development environment
- Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work in a team environment
- Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions
