Senior Product Designer (Core App)

Own the quality and integrity of the iOS and Android apps to ensure a coherent and delightful experience for families. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Hardware teams to translate ambiguous problems into high-quality design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own and champion the quality and integrity of Yoto's iOS and Android apps
- Work as a horizontal partner to multiple product teams, enabling them to execute on new features at the highest level of craft, consistency, and efficiency
- Steward the design principles, patterns, and interaction language that make the efforts of different teams add up to one coherent experience
- Drive cross-cutting work — micro-interactions, animation, perceived performance — that elevates the experience for families across the whole app
- Own design for complex, high-impact initiatives within the app, from early discovery through to shipped outcomes, with clear links to customer behaviour and business impact
Requirements
- A portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of complex product work, from discovery to shipped solutions, and the impact on users and the business
- A deep understanding of native app platform conventions and what makes a mobile app feel coherent, performant, and delightful
- A high bar for craft, and a track record of raising the quality bar — not just owning features, but leveraging principles, systems, and partnerships to elevate the work of others
- Experience working in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces, with the ability to frame problems and drive to clear outcomes
- Ability to simplify complex or technical problems into intuitive experiences (especially in key moments such as first-time use, setup, or core journeys)
