SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Responsible for creating engaging creative content across web, email, social media, and print channels to drive customer engagement. The role involves leading project teams, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring brand consistency across all marketing assets.
Responsibilities
- Works independently or leads project teams, incorporating input from leadership and stakeholders while maintaining brand standards and delivering effective creative solutions
- Mentors and trains designers in daily responsibilities in collaboration with marketing leadership
- Expands creative capabilities beyond print into digital, multimedia, and other design formats
- Supervises photography shoots to ensure brand consistency and creative direction; collaborates with marketing to develop creative briefs
- Uses Adobe Creative Suite to develop content for catalogs, circulars, flyers, email, social media, blogs, web design, internal presentations, and special programs
- Creates design layouts and animations for email, social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), and Google ads
- Codes and slices emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Develops web advertising including weekly panels (static and animated), brand shops, and gift guides; collaborates with web production to improve site experience
- Conceptualizes and executes layouts through collaboration with cross-functional teams and multiple input sources
- Ensures strong user experience through collaboration with NEXCOM associates and designers
- Develops multiple design concepts per project to maintain brand consistency, meet business goals, and improve customer experience
- Maintains and enforces NEXCOM branding standards across all media
- Reviews input data for accuracy in layout, sequencing, and execution; ensures all media versions are correct and complete
- Uses merchandising direction, promotional schedules, intent documents, and product details to create engaging content
- Develops page, email, website, and social media layouts using Adobe Creative Suite with consistent branding and thematic alignment
- Collaborates with Content Management Specialists to develop copy specifications, headlines, pricing, and supporting content
- Coordinates with photographers to ensure styling, models, backgrounds, and merchandise accuracy meet brand standards
- Directs lifestyle photography to build emotional customer engagement
- Estimates photography shoot costs and ensures work is completed within budget
- Reviews photography for color accuracy, balance, and merchandise presentation
- Reviews proofs for clarity, consistency, and accuracy
- Prepares and delivers advertising materials on schedule
- Ensures compliance with prepress requirements including color correction, photo manipulation, and digital formatting standards
- Maintains strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Oracle Endeca, and Salesforce
- Identifies and implements process improvements with measurable outcomes
- Contributes as a strong member of the creative team with high energy, broad vision, and results orientation
- May supervise 2–3 junior Graphic Designers depending on organizational needs
- Works under general supervision of the Creative Manager or higher-level marketing staff; escalates complex issues as needed
- Travel may be required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3 years experience in professional technical or other design and creative work involving photography retouching and Macintosh computer production
- OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of academic study above the highest school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelors degree in preferred degree in fine arts or other related fields for 3 years of general experience
- 3 years of experience creating layouts with Macintosh graphics and design computer systems
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe Photoshop
- Skills in development and implementation of various types of advertising, promotional, and marketing media both electronic and print
