Mold Design Engineering Intern - Summer 2026
Flex 🇺🇸 Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States of America
The intern will assist the engineering team with continuous improvement projects and provide 2D and 3D models for work orders. They will also learn plastic injection mold design fundamentals and collaborate with the tool shop for hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist Engineering Team with continuous improvement project(s)
- Attend Design Status, Customer/Internal Review and Continuous Improvement Meetings
- Complete assigned work orders and provide 2D and 3D models
- Learn fundamentals of plastic injection mold design
- Update design guidelines and standards
- Work with the Tool Shop to obtain hands-on manufacturing experience
Requirements
- Junior/Senior student pursuing Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment and interest in plastic injection molding process
- Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
- Solidworks CAD and troubleshooting knowledge highly desired
- Previous internship experience a plus!
