Graphic Designer
City Of Mississauga 🇨🇦 Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
The City of Mississauga is seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer to join the Strategic Communications & Initiatives team. The role is design-focused and requires hands-on professional experience in graphic design. The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio and excellent conceptual skills to generate innovative and strategic design ideas.
Responsibilities
- Design and prepare artwork for a wide variety of design projects
- Ensure all artwork meets AODA requirements
- Work closely with internal departments to make design recommendations
- Work within established timelines to ensure deadlines are met
- Provide input into the selection process and use of outside design, illustration, photography, print/reproduction services
- Work closely with the Print shop to ensure quality, cost-effective products
- Direct photoshoots as required
- Manage client relationships
- Manage time, resources, documentation and administration of personal workload
- Implement and maintain the Corporation's Visual Identity Program
- Keep current with changing trends in design and technology
Requirements
- University or college degree/diploma in Graphic Design
- 4-6 years of experience in communication design
- R.G.D. accreditation is considered an asset
- Excellent conceptual skills to generate innovative and strategic design ideas
- Ability to design for various media, print and digital
- Strong and effective communication and presentation skills
- Expertise in the most current Adobe design and web software
- AODA knowledge and how it applies to design and document creation
- Prepress and print production experience is preferred
- Solid project and time management skills and work well within a team environment
