Staff Engineer, Electronic Design Engineering

The engineer will design high-performance storage enclosures and servers, managing the full PCBA development cycle from specification to production. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet regulatory and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of enterprise class storage enclosures and servers
• Be responsible for the development of PCBAs through the entire design cycle
• Work closely with other organizations within Western Digital, including product management, procurement, quality, and manufacturing engineering
• Conduct design and feature reviews, be accountable for tracking schedules, issues and resolutions
• Work with international suppliers and manufacturing locations

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• At least 0-5+ years of PCBA development experience in computing, storage or related fields
• Be well organized with strong attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to work individually, and as a team member, to ensure commitments are met
• Able to effectively coordinate and guide the activities of others to meet goals
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of interfacing effectively with peers on other teams
• Digital circuit design expertise
• Understanding of high-speed circuit concepts applicable to current generations of PCIe, Ethernet, and SAS/SATA bus architectures
