Design Engineering Intern

The intern will support the special service tool engineering group with technical tasks related to the design and manufacturing of automotive OEM tools. Responsibilities include interfacing with suppliers, tracking tool status, and reviewing inspection reports against 2D drawings.
Responsibilities
- Perform moderately technical tasks through the application of engineering principles and practices consistent with candidate’s background / experience
- Interface with manufacturing suppliers to track status of quotes and in-process tools
- Review tool inspection reports with 2D drawings
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program from an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Good communication and organizational skills
- 3D and 2D CAD experience is a plus
- Familiarity with use of simple engineering tools such as a height gauge, depth gauge, micrometer, and caliper
- Experience with automotive OEM service and diagnostic tools is a plus
- Hands-on experience with simple to complex automotive repairs is helpful
- Ability to work well in a team environment
