Product Designer - Mechatronics

Design and develop mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems for forestry equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Conduct performance testing, create technical documentation, and provide field support for troubleshooting and optimization.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs, perform calculations, and develop prototypes for mechanical systems
- Develop electro-hydraulic, computer-controlled systems integrating hydraulic components, sensors, input devices, and control logic
- Analyze and select appropriate materials and components based on mechanical properties, cost, and suitability for manufacturing processes
- Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into production
- Conduct tests to validate designs and optimize performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
- Previous design experience in similar industries to forestry
- Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals, mechanics, machine control theory, sensor technologies, and autonomous control systems
- Experience with fluid power systems, engine systems, electrical, and electronic systems
- Ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly products
