Onsite $60,000 - $90,000 Full-time Mid-level

You will design and develop mechanical components for forestry equipment, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and industry standards. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate designs into production and conducting rigorous testing to optimize performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed designs, perform calculations, and develop prototypes for mechanical components
  • Analyze and select appropriate materials based on mechanical properties, cost, and manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams including designers/engineers, manufacturing, and quality control
  • Conduct tests such as stress analysis, fatigue testing, and vibration analysis to validate designs and optimize performance
  • Create technical documentation, including design specifications and bills of materials
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics preferred
  • Previous design experience within similar industries to forestry
  • Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals, mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
  • Understanding of structural FEA and dynamic simulation of machine components
  • Software experience including 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and FEA (Simulation)
