The Staff Product Designer will lead the evolution of design systems and component libraries to ensure cohesive, scalable, and accessible user experiences across Pinterest surfaces. They will partner with cross-functional teams to drive design quality, mentor other designers, and translate complex product needs into intuitive design patterns.
Responsibilities
- Drive system quality, leading the stewardship, evolution, and adoption of core design patterns, component libraries, and gestalt subsystems
- Partner horizontally with product, engineering, and design teams, empowering them to leverage best-in-class patterns and ship with confidence
- Apply methodical, systematic approaches to pattern creation, balancing product usability, craft, accessibility, and business needs
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with significant time spent driving or evolving design systems or pattern libraries
- Portfolio demonstrating polished interface design, systemic thinking, component-based UIs, and tangible influence across large organizations
- Track record in staff/principal-level roles, influencing horizontally, upholding design craft quality, and partnering cross-functionally
- Design technologist mindset, with experience in Figma prototypes, AI, and front-end code
