The role involves supporting rail wagon design and engineering through structural analysis, rail dynamics, and project management. Responsibilities include field troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and coordinating with manufacturers and repair centers.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in creating railcar wagon designs and carrying out structural analysis/Rail dynamics analysis on projects involving rail wagon design and modifications
- Hands-on experience in Autodesk Inventor software to develop 3D CAD model from drawings
- Hands-on experience in ANSYS APDL/ANSYS Workbench to develop 1D/2D/3D FEA model along with results interpretations at critical locations
- Must have in-depth knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) theory & Structural mechanics/Structural vibration theory
- Must have hands-on experience in Shell modeling/mid-surfacing technique in ANSYS SPACECLAIM/DISCOVERY
- Must have hands-on experience in manual calculations of welds/bolts/structures
- Knowledge in fatigue analysis, fracture mechanics & rail dynamics will be an added advantage
- Compile and communicate analysis results in a concise and clear manner to both a technical and non-technical audience through technical writing and verbal presentation
Requirements
- Full time M.Tech/M.E having specialization in CAD/CAM, Machine design from a premier institute having 5-10 years of work experience
- Experience with rail wagon design, shop operations, sales support, and regulatory compliance will be desirable
- Knowledge of RDSO, and Association of American Railroads (AAR) regulations pertaining to railcar design/operations is highly desirable
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings 3D CAD, preferably with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
