Product Designer
Karbon Remote (🇦🇺 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia)
The Product Designer will lead complex design initiatives and partner with Product and Engineering to define and deliver customer-centered experiences. Responsibilities include using AI-assisted tools for prototyping, conducting user research, and refining designs within Figma to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own Experience end to end: Partner with Product and Engineering to define the problem space
- Prototype to set direction: Use AI-assisted tools to build and iterate on flows and lightweight interfaces quickly
- Validate with customers early: Talk directly with customers, run quick tests, and use what you learn to adjust direction
- Refine in Figma: Translate validated concepts into designs with complete state coverage, system alignment, and production readiness
- Design for the platform: Move complexity under the hood so that experiences feel effortless for customers
- Drive our craft forward with patterns, prompts, and an attention to detail that compounds over time
Requirements
- 2-4+ years of experience in product design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, interaction design, visual craft, and problem-solving across complex systems
- Proven ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems and drive work forward with clarity and ownership
- Active use of LLMs in your design workflow, for problem framing, research synthesis, prototyping, or iteration
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to build and iterate on concepts, even without writing production code
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering
