Product Designer, Tabletop

The Kitchen Designer is responsible for the product design and development of Kitchen Textiles and Table Linens to meet merchant objectives and brand strategy. This role involves leading the design process, creating CAD sketches, preparing presentation boards, and collaborating with sourcing and technical teams to resolve product issues.
Responsibilities
- Leading Kitchen product design and managing own process and calendar
- Maintaining a diligent approach to workload, which includes timely communication with internal and external partners
- Supporting and driving concepts throughout the development process, research, selection of materials/finishes, and the creation of silhouettes/form language
- Translating ideas for product direction using CAD/hand sketches
- Preparing professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples
- Supporting and driving product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points
- Building brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the division to ensure continuity
- Identifying, troubleshooting and resolving product issues in collaboration with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Design, Textiles or similar area, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience working in product development environment
- Knowledge of Textiles product trend, materials & manufacturing
- Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions
- Experience assimilating product feedback
- Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work with internal and external teams
