The Senior Manager, Product Designer leads a team to create research-backed, end-to-end product experiences while collaborating with business and technical leaders. They are responsible for managing design activities from research through execution and mentoring the team to ensure high-quality, user-centered outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Work with the product, business, and technology teams to define, scope, and manage the end-to-end product experience
- Manage the design team activities from research and ideation through to execution and ensure consistent high-quality outcomes
- Guide UX designers on design strategy related to research and insights generation and then execute high-quality UX artifacts
- Guide UI designers on executing best-in-class visual design work that is consistent, on-brand, and user-backed
- Work with the front-end developers to ensure the successful implementation of the visual design and product interaction
- Mentor and coach the design teams, specifically with new ways of working and mapping strategy to execution
- Identify and remove team impediments
- Work with CPO and POs to align the roadmap to vision and continuous insights to ensure the voice of the customer is heard
Requirements
- Ability to plan, direct, and deliver clear research process and artifacts
- Can make design decisions at a team and product level
- Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units
- Significant experience driving design outcomes in an Agile infrastructure
- Seasoned design expertise with deep insight into newest methods, trends, and design operations
- Experience in Agile Development as a product designer, including tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align the organization on complex product decisions while advocating the voice of the customer
