Design Engineering Specialist IV - Communications & Security

Onsite $103,500 - $191,500 Full-time Senior

This role involves providing technical engineering expertise for communications and security systems, including system studies, specification development, and project oversight. The specialist will manage complex engineering assignments, perform cost estimates, and ensure project delivery adheres to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system studies (e.g., Radio Frequency (RF) and/or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and/or Public Address (PA) coverage, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) data traffic analyses and distributed storage, and network bandwidth allocations calculations)
  • Develop major telecommunication system/equipment specifications (e.g., RF/WLAN, telephony, Outside Cable System (OCS), Structured Cabling Systems (SCS), weather monitoring)
  • Represent CommSec in model reviews; closely monitor 3D modeling prepared by design group utilizing review software

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
